Silver Lining

We have this thing wherein all the Marketing and Advertising students of DLSU-D gather for a talk and to celebrate awardees on top of overflowing drinks and food. The recent General Assembly is held at One Esplanade, Pasay City. The place is all decked with sophistication of black, white, and silver decorations that suits the classy and edgy mood of the event. I must say that this one is the grandest I've attended so far so kudos to the team behind this success.  I'm hoping that there will be another one before the school year end.

The theme was Shades of Gray and because I'm a fan of the novel slash soon to be on big screen (Fifty Shades of Grey) where their peg was inspired from, I wanted to go big for it.
Since my past looks were all but sweet and feminine, for a change I'd like to rock a vampy and edgy look. Hence the dark outfit matched with the vintage hollywood make-up look to complete the transformation.

I played with textures and patterns to give the monotone look an interesting touch. I chose a lacy top to still give this number a womanly aspect and delicateness to it but then the sequined skirt gives 70's retro divas a run for their money ( yes I'm once a human disco ball, LOL).

To not overwhelm my whole look I did not add any dramatic accessories especially a necklace. Only this goth-like earrings that nailed it.  Also some stacked silver mettalic rings and I'm good to go.
What I'm totally obsessing about my ensemble is this caged shoes that raised my look to another level. It exudes rocker chick with elegance.

My look may be a bit much but since I received an award for Best Marketing Research together with my best buddy also that night, my effort made sense after all, right?

But what made this a memorable event is the fact that I spent it with the some of the best people in my life which are my college friends. Even though we are supposed to be all glam and poised, we just laughed to our hearts content and owned the night like no one else.
Top is vintage, skirt is Tory Burch , shoes are Baby Phat, metallic rings are Caaatsss, chunky ring is Genevieve Gozum

Here Comes the Dragon

Since February is no classes day because of Chinese new Year, the girls and I thought why not go to Star City to shake ourselves from the stress we have and more we'll have from school works. it's my first time at Star City and I was still shocked upon seeing the rides i'm about to experience, I knew that they were really heart-jumping and I prepared for it but at that moment when I was near to ride on it I got totally coward but my friends won't let me escape so I have no choice but to trust my life to the operators. Yet I'm glad I did it because it's so much fun and thrilling, if not when will I? They said that the thing you should fear most is the fear itself.

Good thing about going there at holiday amidst its jampacked atmosphere is the Dragon Dance especially for the occassion, we were even danced around by the dragon dancers unknowingly at first because we were at the middle of the park when they arrived; it was so cute and so festive!

I love how we dressed up for that day; one is rocker chick, girly, another is boho and I'm swagger.

Birthday Celeb

Birthdays in our family is not actually celbrated grandly we make sure that we make those days for each one of us special by bonding together because we believe that what's essential is invisible in the naked eye as Hellen keller said, so the warmth of our love is the gift one must receive from us rather than material things.
Dining out is maybe the cliche activity of families when celebrating special occassions but this tradition I think won't fade its natural magic in closing the ties with the people you love.

Now let me greet my mom a happy, happy birthday! Mom, I know you might not be able to read this here but saying this out loud is one thing I can do to say not even a half part of my gratitude to you. You may not be a perfect woman as what everyone wanted to see, but in you I knew what a woman is capable of. Your extent of loving us unconditionally made me see the world not only in a selfish way but a place where loving does not revolve around two people only; that being partners does not mean being lovers but a counterpart you can lean on, and trust to be your fallback when the road is tough without asking for anything in return. You rewrite the saying "Relationship is a give and take" and turned it into a "give and receive", but then it's not impossible for you to receive lots of love because you're just really easy to be loved.

I know this is not what is expected to be said but I thank the universe not to make you perfect because if you are, then I guess you should not deserve me, yet you are made just the way you are so that I can experience to have a wonderful mother like you. So even you taught me to be humble, maybe this time would be an exception for me to be your proud daughter.
OMG! i'm so cheesy but hey this only happens once in a year so better yet make it extraordinary.
Anyways, we ate at Burgoo, an american diner. We ordered meaty dishes because i think our appetites are just growling and their servings satisfies this without sacrificing the quality and taste.

Oklahoma Baby Back Ribs
Shrimps and Ribs Platter. I love the shrimps so much!

Bloggers Expo

Hello guys! Please forgive me for my social hiatus so to make up for it I'll post two major entry today. Let me show you a late event but trust me you won’t be disappointed with this.
This day is a remarkable one and something that I would not forget ever! Why?! I’ve “just” finally met three of the bloggers who serves as my inspiration when it comes to blogging and of course fashion! Who would have thought that I would come face to face with dazzling Danika Navarro, and the gorgeous sisters Vern and Verniece Enciso! Yup you read it right, it is them and I’m so thankful to COMMSOC (the organization I’m joining at school) for bringing the ladies at the Blog Expo.

Okay whenever I remember this experience I have to remind myself to breathe because until now I’m still on cloud nine and I’m sure you would be too if you love them as much as I do. I really marked this day on my calendar and when it finally arrived I was so overwhelmed! While the speakers have not arrived yet the hosts of the event had an ice breaker where in I giddily participate and even won gift certificates, how lucky I am today!
First fashion blogger speaker was DLSUD’s very own Justin Borja who really made a sensible talk about how to start a blog and being successful in it. I have learned a lot from him and I’m trying my best to apply the knowledge he had shared to all of us in my blog.

Next in line was Ms. Danikka Navarro; I was really mesmerized with her wit and charm and she is so warm and funny while giving the talk making us all feel at ease. She was so generous that she even gave us stickers of her latest graphic design. I even asked her a question in the Q and A portion, I swear my heart is thumping while asking her all because I am too starstrucked with her.
And the most anticipated duo came and I nearly melted at the sight of them. They look like real life dolls on personal just like in their blogs but seeing them with my own eyes is just super. The sisters were so game in giving their talk and made it very comfortable and interactive. Verniece even gives jokes which Vern said we should just give a fake laugh to not hurt her feelings but nonetheless she is so cute!
They had a trivia/giveaway segment but unfortunately I didn’t get called but hey, seeing them is more than winning the lottery, LOL!
Of course this uber day won’t end without taking pictures with them, yay! Feast your eyes with it and be jealous haha! Don’t worry; you don’t know they might be having talk on your school next.
